2020 Deduction – Napa Valley Petite Sirah
Tasting Notes: Buoni Amici Vineyard is ideal for growing Petite Sirah. Every year the grapes produce dark, inky wines that are relatively acidic with firm structure and mouth feel. Dark garnet in color, the current vintage is a massive, intense, chewy, and masculine wine. The aromatics are blue and black fruit. The extraordinary deep color wine is full-bodied with flavors of blueberry, cocoa powder, plums, and black pepper. The finish just lingers and lingers.
2020 "MAKes us Happy" – Cabernet Sauvignon
Tasting Notes: Only once in your life are you blessed with your first grandchild. Mila Amara Kaiser was born on November 15, 2021, and makes the entire family happy. The fruit was sourced from Grant Street Ranch. Medium to dark ruby in color, the wine’s aromatics are dried cherries, leather, and a hint of tobacco. In the mouth, black cherry fruit (both fresh and dried) mixes with black olive and herbs. Licorice and cherry in the finish.
2020 Bottom Line – Eisele Clone Cabernet Sauvignon
Tasting Notes: We were fortunate to source grapes from a Calistoga Vineyard that grafted over Eisele Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon to their vineyard. The fruit was simply fantastic. Deep purple in the glass, the wine has incredible aromatics of ripe, dark fruit and expresso roast. It is full-bodied, with wonderful mouth feel, fine tannins, and a long, smooth finish. While very approachable today, this wine can be stored for 25 years.
2020 Refund – Sangiovese
Tasting Notes: The grapes were sourced from Arroyo Vineyards on Greenwood Avenue. Medium garnet in the glass, this wine smells of pure cherry and plum. In the mouth, rich flavors of dark cherry and hints of allspice, black pepper, and dried floral overtones emerge on the palate. The tannins are muscular but not brawny. With a smooth finish, the wine leaves the overall impression of clarity and brightness.
2019 In The Red – Cabernet Sauvignon
Tasting Notes: Our estate Cab is a true reflection of Buoni Amici Vineyard. Medium to dark garnet in the glass, the wine smells of black cherry, cassis, and lavender. In the mouth, juicy blackcurrant, black plum, and other dark fruits emerge. Hints of dried flowers and licorice linger in the finish. Faint tannins add texture and complexity to the wine.
