2019 Opening Entry – Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc

Tasting Notes: Napa Valley provided near perfect growing conditions for Sauvignon Blanc grapes.  In this vintage, we extended the contact of the wine with lees after fermentation.  The result is a wine with aromatics of nectarine, lemon, floral, and anise.  It is a crisp, elegant and vibrant wine with flavors of pear, melon, citrus, and tropical fruit.  The wine is well balanced, with a proper level of acidity.  Slightly chilled, it pairs well with fish, cheese, and light fare.

2017 Deduction – Napa Valley Petite Sirah

Tasting Notes:  This estate grown fruit produced an inky dark, purple wine.  It is easily described as powerful, hardy, chewy, masculine, and dense.  In your mouth, you will experience flavors of black pepper, blackberries, blueberries, and licorice.  This wine pairs perfectly with a wide variety of bigger dishes. Braised and grilled meats, stews, short ribs, and barbeque of all types are excellent matches.

2017 Compilation – Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Tasting Notes:  The source for this wine is from our estate called Buoni Amici Vineyards in Calistoga.  The then ten year old vines are producing wonderful fruit. The wine has energetic aromas of black currant, plum, and vanilla.  The energy in your nose is equally enjoyable in your mouth with beautiful ripeness, mocha, black cherry, and savory herbs.  It has a chewy backbone and a lively finish.  It is a perfect match with fatty cuts of meat, lamb, and pork.  And do not forget to save some for a piece of dark chocolate.

2014 Bottom Line – Diamond Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon

Tasting Notes:  On rare occasions, we release a wine that we feel is extraordinary and this Diamond Mountain cabernet sauvignon is worthy of our Bottom Line designation.  This vintage has a tantalizing nose of waves of black fruits leading up to a velvety texture and layers of rich flavors and a lingering finish.  The wine has signature mountain flavors of blackberry, boysenberry, baking spice, and pomegranate.  The ripe tannins offer the promise of wonderful things to come in your cellar. Enjoy with grilled steaks, beef wellington and other eloquent food pairings.  The wine will harmonize well with cheese, dark chocolate, and other chocolate based dishes.

2011 Fortified – Zinfandel Port Wine

Tasting Notes:  This vintage ruby port wine was made with fruit sourced from Greenwood Vineyards in Calistoga and fortified with brandy.  The wine has layers of black fruit, cherry, mocha, and anise.  As it ages, you will find some lighter notes of dried fruits. This is a great aperitif with dark chocolate, cherry desserts, and chocolate covered strawberries.
